West Desert Preserve GOOD NEWS: Freeport-McMoRan Sierrita Inc. has recently purchased the West Desert Preserve from the AZ State Land Dept. and renamed it "West Desert Trails". Public access and use of the trails is allowed if you apply for a free permit from Sierrita thru their website, www.wdtrails.com.
