The Green Valley Recreation Hiking Club (GVRHC) began in 1981 and was officially sanctioned by GVR in 1984. Every Thursday, members hike in the beautiful sky islands, valleys, and deserts of Southern Arizona. Our club offers hikes of varied terrain and elevation and provides opportunities to learn about the history, flora, and fauna of the region. Experienced hike leaders conduct every hike and are aided by assistant leaders.
GVRHC is open to all GVR members and tenants. Before your first hike with the club or returning to the club after a 3-year hiatus, you must attend an Orientation session. At the orientation you will learn about hiking safely in southern Arizona. The orientation schedule is on our Orientation page.
